That up there in my header is one of my favorite photos taken upon completion of my 2010 kitchen remodel-fiasco-rescue. What you see up there is a strip of marble, which I just had to have somewhere in the kitchen but couldn’t use as a countertop material at this kid-possessed stage of our lives. [The tops we ended up with are Caesarstone quartz, in bright-white Blizzard, a choice I have not once regretted. More on quartz in another post.] I love my open shelves and the airy feel they lend to the space. I am not an organized person, but open shelves are easy to keep straight! I highly recommend. Mugs are from Pier1, artwork by my boy. You also see Sonoma Vihara glass tiles, in Jade, that won out over a stiff competition with about 100 other tile choices. How sexy are these tiles? I give ’em 10 out of 10 bees!
